Foster Home Info

All of our Shelties are housed in "foster homes".    Our foster homes are the key to our success, as the foster home plays such a key role in the placement process.

As a foster home, you are asked to house and care for 1-2 Shelties that we will match with your home.   You would not get a dog that you could not handle.

You provide:  the home, lots of love, attention.

We provide:  Everything.   This includes food (if you need us to)  crate, vet care, leash, collar, bowls and any other item the dog will need.

Dogs stay in foster care from 1-6 weeks, depending on the dog.   Imagine how much fun you will have with a new dog every month.

As a member of our team, there are lots of other perks that  come with the job.

  • Meet lots of Sheltie lovers.
  • Free vaccinations for your own dogs.
  • Free pet sitting when you are on vacation.
  • Lots of valuable training and experience.
  • Knowing you are helping a homeless Sheltie
  • Foster at your own pace.   Take a break when you need to.
